Australia Day 9: Mackay to Ayr

We've seen 127 species so far this trip (only 20 of which I've seen in other countries).

My life list is up to 1,402.

Australian Figbird

Red-capped Plover

Rainbow Bee-eater

This must be the most interesting pigeon butt -
 Torresian Imperial-pigeon

And my biggest coup - driving down the highway at 60 mph
and I spotted TWO infrequent visitors to this area - emus!
Avi of course pulled a u-turn and pulled off the side of the
highway so I could get pictures.  

Then, to top it all off and make this a truly Australian moment,
a family of kangaroos came hopping by!
