Phoenix, Arizona Day 1

#172 Roseate Spoonbill

After a short flight, very long wait at the rental car counter, and a two quick errands my mom and I finally got settled in our hotel and had just

a couple of daylight hours left to catch some birds. In particular, we headed straight to see my first Roseate Spoonbill (one of my favorite birds) of the year.   This bird is a bit of a celebrity.  It is a rarity for the area and has been living in this particular park since September 2020 (Avi and I saw it in October 2020).

#175 Gambel’s Quail

American Avocet (not new to the list)

#173 American White Pelicans
