Day 3 Australia: Brisbane to Currimundi

It was a great day birding- starting off with a Buff-banded Rail sighting (they are very shy and usually hide in vegetation), then more nests and young ones (including a Laughing Kookaburra feeding its babies) and the best surprise - spoiler… a wild Koala!  We rented a car and started our drive north with several stops to bird before getting a hotel for the night in Currimundi, about 60 miles north of Brisbane. We walked 18,300 steps (~6 miles).  The temperature topped out at 95°F with 72% humidity before a huge rainstorm hit at 3pm.
